What is referred to as the Academic Podium at SUNY Albany is a rectangular area that is approximately 560 feet wide x 1550 feet long (approximately 21 acres). This area is comprised of various Academic and Administrative buildings connected by a precast concrete canopy which is supported by precast concrete columns in a square 20 ft x 20 ft grid pattern. The underside of the concrete canopy was exhibiting signs of deterioration and the concrete has spalled from the underside of the canopy in a few localized areas. Delta was retained to inspect the underside of the canopy and develop a program report detailing our findings, proposing options, and developing cost estimates for the options.

Delta was later retained by the State University Construction Fund to develop construction documents to repair the loose and spalled concrete on the underside of the canopy. Delta additionally performed construction administration services.
