The Assembly Hall Building No. 41 at Manhattan Psychiatric Center was deteriorated to the point of disrepair, requiring the demolition of the building. A pre-demolition asbestos survey was performed and it was determined asbestos containing pipe insulation and "chrysotile" stage curtain were present at the structure. The overall scope included the abatement of the referenced asbestos materials, the removal and disposal of existing PCB transformer, structure demolition and follow-up site work (i.e. backfilling / grading / seeding).
The scope of work for this project involved developing a preliminary estimate to determine if the project could be bid as an E or M project. Pre-renovation hazardous materials survey, contract documents, including a project manual and drawings, were developed for bidding purposes.
