Delta provides high-definition laser scanning technology for our projects. This new service allows us to provide accurate measurements up to ten times faster than conventional methods. The scanner has the ability to capture 50,000 points per second and can work in many environments.
The scanner takes only a few minutes to perform a survey for a typical setup, capturing the survey data without disrupting daily work schedules. This is very advantageous for construction projects, capturing real-time conditions in a three-dimensional medium. Whether the site is a flat field, a 10-story building, an existing bridge, or a detailed mechanical room, this scanner can give you accurate as-built, topographic, and mapping information!
This new service allows Delta’s technicians to produce a more accurate and detailed survey. The Scan Station C10 captures overhead vertical, horizontal, and sub-level geometry over a full view (360 x 270 degrees), with a pointing accuracy of as little as one (1) millimeter. By eliminating the need for reflectors, high definition scanning increases worker safety when scanning structures such as towers, bridges, tunnels, and roadways that have dangerous or difficult to reach areas.
Once the scans are performed, the data collected is entered into modeling software (Cyclone) and the technician processes the points to make a detailed model of the scans. Here they can also calculate precise volumes, overlay pictures, model HVAC and plumbing, as well as provide record drawing information to the client.
Making it a seamless transition, this software works in conjunction with AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Rivet. Coordination between the software and drafting programs is essential, allowing for less technical time for the project, condensing schedules, and cutting costs for the large surveying projects.
