This project involved the design of four new bridges; three (3) bridges over the Cocohatchee Canal and one (1) that spans a lake in the interior of the Heritage Bay commercial and housing development in Collier County, FL. The three bridges over the canal were constructed using precast, prestressed, voided slab, concrete units supported on precast, prestressed piles with cast-in-place concrete caps. The bridge spanning the lake is a 66-foot single span precast concrete arch (BEBO) supported on pile foundations. The wingwalls utilized precast concrete wall panels and geogrids to form a mechanically stabilized retaining system. The scope of services included structural design of the bridge elements, drawings and specification preparation, specialty threshold inspections, construction administration and bridge certification.
