This project involves the rehabilitation and reconstruction of an existing four lane highway. The preliminary design phase of the project includes the preparation of a Design Report documenting the existing pavement deficiencies, Level 1 load rating of two structures, roadway and intersection capacity analyses, correction of safety issues, access management, and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations. In addition several intersections within the project limits will be improved to offer increase safety. A significant problem in the area is flooding during storm events. A study of the area was required to provide additional drainage capacity and limit the flooding impacts during a storm event.
