This fast-track project involves pre-renovation asbestos surveys and on-site asbestos monitoring surveys to 4 dorms on Binghamton University's Campus. Overall, the project will take 4 years to complete and include asbestos project monitoring, air sampling and sample analysis services associated with the abatement of asbestos containing acoustical ceiling material and floor tile. This work began in 2006 and will be completed by the summer of 2009.

The abatement and construction renovation for each year's project is required to be completed during the non-academic calendar months. In order to accommodate the work of all trades involved, the environmental team has performed double and weekend shifts to meet the tight time frame.

The $1,100,000 abatement work completed to date has been accomplished in advance of the project schedule. Additionally, an asbestos project monitoring and air sampling report was created.
