This project involved the replacement of a single span pony truss superstructure with multiple steel girders and a composite concrete deck to eliminate structural deficiencies, remove the load posting and improve sight distance. Design tasks included bridge inspection and load rating, hydraulic analysis, alternative evaluation, environmental documentation, preparation of a design report, development of construction bid documents and cost estimating. Construction work consisted of complete superstructure replacement, new bearings, abutment restoration including backwall replacement, new MSES retaining walls, approach roadway reconstruction and new guide railing. The construction phase included administration, inspection and engineering consultation services. This was a locally managed federally funded "pass-thru" project which mandated adherence to NYSDOT design procedures and criteria.
