This project involves the rehabilitation of a five-span steel multi-girder bridge over the Chenango River. The bridge deck, railings, and bearings are being replaced. Rehabilitation of the substructure, replacement of various structural steel members, and the incorporation of a VFW monument are also part of the project, along with improvements to two adjacent intersections. The project includes new sidewalks and an under bridge multi-use path that links planned riverbank trails with a county park.
Work tasks include preliminary and final bridge design, bridge inspection, design report preparation, environmental documentation, multi-agency coordination, public participation and construction inspection. This is a locally managed federally funded "pass-thru" project which mandates adherence to NYSDOT design procedures and criteria.
