This project involved the rehabilitation of a five-span steel multi-girder bridge over the Chenango River. Work included replacement of the bridge deck, railings, and bearings. Rehabilitation of the substructure, replacement of various structural steel members, and the incorporation of a VFW monument are also part of the project, along with improvements to two adjacent intersections. The project included new sidewalks and an underbridge multi-use path that links planned riverbank trails with a county park.
Work tasks included preliminary and final bridge design, bridge inspection, design report preparation, environmental documentation, multi-agency coordination, public participation, and construction inspection. This was a locally managed federally funded "pass-thru" project which mandated adherence to NYSDOT design procedures and criteria. |
