This project involved the design of multiple roadways and parking lots on the Binghamton University campus. The scope of services included topographic survey, fieldwork, electrical site lighting design, stormwater drainage design, construction cost estimating and contract document preparation. Additionally, bid phase and construction administration services were provided. Prior to beginning this project phase, Delta Engineers was requested to perform pre-design services and responsible for coordinating the asphalt and subbase core sampling. Recommendations from these services related to lot relocation and rehabilitation were incorporated into the project.
The scope of services for this project revolved around the limited parking available on campus. One requirement of the reconfiguration was to accommodate additional parking spaces. Due to the current parking load, it was necessary to phase the projects to ensure a net reduction in parking spaces did not occur while the project was undergoing construction.
