In June, 2006, the Amphenol Interconnect Facility in Sidney, NY was flooded with approximately 42 inches of water. This resulted in the need for a complete renovation to the 86,000 sf office space. This project was a design-build project.

The building is a single story, slab on grade, steel frame structure with metal and brick siding. The project scope involved schematic design and construction documents. Schematic design was developed to assist the client in developing a Guaranteed Maximum Price for completing all design and construction. The project then progressed directly to construction documents and involved developing designs and drawings. The new HVAC system consisted of rooftop air handlers, heat pumps, a cooling tower and heat exchanger. Independent exhaust, heating, cooling and make-up air systems were designed for the kitchen/dining area under a different project. New plumbing and electrical systems were designed, as well as a power distribution system. Upgrades to the lighting, fire alarm, security, telephone and data services were also included in the project.

Site work for this project included designing the entrance area, site grading, developing a site plan, as well as designing the utilities. Roadway, parking lot, and walkways were all designed under the site plan. This project also involved detailed coordination with the Town, Owner and utility companies.

Architectural programming was prepared for this project and included a detailed floor plan, reflected ceiling plan, sections, elevations, details and recommendations for materials and finishes.
